Box Office Staff Needed
Theatre IV and Barksdale Theatre are seeking part time box office staff for evening and weekend shifts to take place at our three locations (Willow Lawn, Hanover Tavern and the Empire Theatre at 114 West Broad). Hours and work location will vary depending on the number of performances on stage at any given time.
Applicants must display friendly customer service above all and have their own transportation. Computer skills are required, but training will be provided on our box office software.

The Stage Management department fuses the fundamentals of company management with theatrical stage management practices operating a diverse mix of entertainment product that engages a broad demographic.
Reporting to the Production Supervisor of Entertainment Operations, Stage Managers are responsible to:
• Supervise the daily operation of assigned venue(s) and product
• Maintain artistic and technical integrity of production
• Lead, coach, and develop cast and crew
• Manage employee hours tracking and schedules
• Foster a safe, positive, and professional work environment
• Oversee the organized and efficient operation of all venue areas, including stage, wings, dressing rooms, and storage

Museum Gallery Theatre Actor Science Museum of Virginia
Hiring range: Up to $15.00 per hour
The Science Museum of Virginia is seeking an experienced Theatre Gallery Actor to portray dramatic male roles and characters during scientific theatric productions, performances and gallery demonstrations. These performances may include dramatic story telling, re-enactments of scientific discoveries, and interactive dramas to engage museum visitors beyond traditional educational protocols. Involves considerable dramatic and interactive acting experience with proven skills to self manage artistic makeup, costuming and stage setup. The ideal candidate must enjoy working with a diverse public, be self motivated to learn educational components of the materials, and work well independently as well as a team member.
Prior experience must include interactive gallery-style theatre acting roles and/or strong theatre performance background with hands-on experience coordinating costuming, theatrical makeup and stage props with minimal or no assistance. A college degree in theatre performance is desirable. Preferred candidates will demonstrate knowledge of sciences and possess the ability to present educational materials in a dramatic flair. Excellent oral communication skills are required. This is a physically demanding position requiring standing for long period as well as the ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Candidates must enjoy working with children and be comfortable working with crowds in a fast-paced environment.
Work hours per week will range from 15 to 29 to include days, evening, weekends, and holidays depending upon business needs.
Weekday, weekend, nights and holiday availability is required.
No state benefits are provided and maximum of 1500 hours may be in a 12 month period.

Facility
Manager - Firehouse Theatre Project
The Firehouse Theatre Project, a non-profit organization focusing on
contemporary American theater production, seeks a part-time Facility
Manager.
The Facility Manager is an hourly position, approximately 10
hrs/week (plus additional hours when loading-in shows). $10/hour
start w/ 3-month review and possible raise.
Duties include:
- routine building maintenance
- basic plumbing, electrical and carpentry skills
- organizing and restocking maintenance and cleaning supplies
- organizing and maintaining tools and building materials
- painting
- light cleaning and trash removal
- organizing and maintaining prop, costume & furniture storage rooms
- requires light to heavy lifting and stairs
- other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- The Facility Manager will also act as assistant to the Technical
Director and will be responsible for helping build and strike sets
for all shows and special events (avg. 6-7 shows/year). This will
require additional hours including evenings and weekends.
- Candidate must have several years experience in a similar role;
- Must be self-motivated w/ good organizational skills and have an
interest in making our facility look and function better.
- The ideal candidate will have understanding of the basics of a
lighting and sound system, however will train the right person.

Swift Creek Mill Theatre is seeking volunteers to provide assistance in a variety of roles. Our new volunteer program offers opportunities in areas of Ushers/Greeters, Production Support, Development and Marketing. Swift Creek Mill Theatre has been a Richmond and TriCities institution for over 43 years. We’ve come a long way since three local families took a 300yearold gristmill and turned it into an intimate space for the production of so many splendid theatrical experiences. Four decades and more than 300 productions later, the Mill is still going strong in its historic location. The theatre operates year round and accommodates 244 people. We currently produce six mainstage shows and five youth theatre productions each year, including world premiere musicals and one of a kind children’s shows developed and written in house. The playhouse also hosts a youth summer theatre camp.
