As a modern morality play and social satire, “Sacred City Alive!” asks the question: “How can true peace be achieved in our cities and in our hearts?” The show is set in New York City about Fame, Fortune and Power competing for the soul of Everyone until Faith comes alive, even at ultimate sacrifice, leading the way to lasting treasures…
With 18 original songs and book locally developed, “Sacred City Alive!” by Mary Kay Williams and Edward J. Keating is will serve as our contribution to the Acts of Faith Festival. The production will be directed by Daniel Moore, one of the three co-founders of the Festival.
With a cast of 18 artists from theatre, opera and church choirs, “Sacred City Alive!” will feature Irish soprano, Anne O’Byrne and bass Chase Peak – both celebrated in their opera and concert appearances; Bianca Bryan, nominee for best actress in a musical in Richmond last year; Ben Miller, award winning conductor, pianist and singer; Kyle Billeter, major roles in many local musicals; and starring Dinh James Doan, highly accomplished Vietnamese-American stage/film/TV actor from NYC as the charismatic Narrator of the show.
NO TICKETS REQUIRED – A Free Will Offering will be taken at the show to benefit ReEstablish Richmond, an organization that helps refugees and immigrants establish roots, build community and become self-sufficient.
