SYNOPSIS: The Plaids are a quartet of friends who met in highschool that return from the afterlife for their last chance at musical glory. A close-harmony barbershop quartet musical revue.
Rehearsals begin week of: June 17, 2019
Performance run: July 19 – August 25, 2019
FRANKIE (male, 20s-30s) – the leader and caretaker of the group. He has the most confidence but is as humble as they come. He takes care of his fellow PLAIDS and makes sure that everyone know where they’re supposed to be and what is supposed to happen next. His asthma acts up if the songs get out of control.
Second tenor/Lyric Baritone (F3 to B5)
SMUDGE (male, 20s-30s) – the worrier. Often reluctant to perform and has a chronic nervous stomach.
Bass (Low C to G5)
SPARKY (male, 20s-30s) the clown, the scamp, the “cut-up” of the group. Loves to perform, tell stories, and is always looking for ways to crack jokes. Jinx’s step-brother.
Baritone (F3 to G5)
JINX (male, 20s-30s) – the shy one. Sparky’s step-brother
Tenor (F3 to C6 (High C))
Local, Non-Union talent only. All performers paid.

WHAT TO PREPARE
Those auditioning are asked to prepare 32 bars of a 1950’s pop song that shows range in the style of Andy Williams, Perry Como or Johnny Ray. Also be prepared to share a one minute embarrassing story from high school (or equivalent years).
Please be sure to bring sheet music in your key. An accompanist will be provided.
