As her adventure unfolds, Winnie faces an extraordinary choice: return to her life, or continue with the Tucks on their infinite journey. Adapted for young audiences from the 2016 Broadway production inspired by the beloved children’s novel by Natalie Babbitt.

Rehearsals begin week of: September 24, 2019
Performance run: October 18-December 1, 2019

SEEKING:

WINNIE FOSTER to play 11; too skeptical for her age, but with an unknown longing for romance and adventure. Must sing very well and be a strong actress with sharp comedic timing. Winnie is the protagonist of the show and drives the story forward, so the actress must have a commanding presence.

JESSE TUCK to play 17; youngest son of the Tuck family, and he embodies the energy and lightness of youth, but the lightness is tempered by an eternal loneliness.
Pop tenor – must sing very well.

MILES TUCK 23 years old; a bitter man whose natural sweetness was shut away when he lost his wife and child. Doomed to live with regret.
Baritenor – must sing well.

MAE TUCK The matriarch; a powerful presence but a gentle mother, whose maternal instincts take over when Winnie enters their world.

ANGUS TUCK The patriarch; struggling with the lifestyle the Tuck’s are forced to live, but rejuvenated when he meets Winnie. A warm figure with a presence as big as his heart.

NANA a loopy old woman, but a loving grandmother and mother. A little over protective.

MAN IN YELLOW SUIT the antagonist; creepy and persuasive, a man with an obsession and a secret.

CONSTABLE Hugo’s father. Seemingly a buffoon, his simple manner belies a sharp wit and kind heart.

HUGO to play 17; Junior deput of Treegap. Painfully shy, awkward, and goofy, but smart and eerily observant. His father (Constable Joe) knows this, and the two of them have a “routine” that fools most of the people all of the time.

Local, non-union only. All performers paid.
Performers under the age of 18 y/o will be seen for the role of WINNIE FOSTER only.
