TWO Summer Showtime Camps Announced – VA Rep and Cadence Theatre Company

Virginia Rep and Cadence Theatre Company are working together this summer to offer TWO unique Summer Showtime theatre camps for teens. Schedules have been arranged so that students can take part in both camps, if cast at auditions, and have two distinctly different experiences.

Musical: Chicago High School Edition.

Rehearsing during the day M-F July 27 – August 14 with performances August 14, 15, 16 on the November Theatre downtown.

This production will use the same set as Virginia Rep’s professional production of Chicago this summer, with direction by Irene Kuykendall and choreography by Tyce Diorio (So You Think You Can Dance, videos for Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lopez, and Janet Jackson).

Cost: $750

Auditions for Chicago High School Edition will be held Sunday, March 1 from 5-9 p.m. at the Children’s Theatre at Willow Lawn. Callbacks will take place on Monday, March 2 from 5-9 p.m.

Play: Snow Angel

by Pulitzer-Prize winning playwright David Lindsay-Abaire (Rabbit Hole, Shrek The Musical).

Rehearses early evenings Monday -Thursday July 27 – August 6 with performances August 7, 8, 9 in the Theatre Gym.

Auditions will be held Sunday, February 9 from 2 – 5 p.m. in the Theatre Gym downtown.
