This performance camp is designed with the musical theatre lover in mind. Each day will begin with group warm-ups where campers will prepare to use their voices, bodies and minds for rehearsal. Campers will learn music, choreography, and all of their lines while working together as an ensemble. The Summer Showtime cast will then take their places in the spotlight for four public performances on the Virginia Rep Center stage.
Show Description:
In a sleepy, mid-western town, a motorbike riding roustabout is released from jail after receiving a warning not to rile up the locals with his guitar picking skills. Despite strict laws creating obstacles for self expression, he and a dynamic cast of high-energy “youths” find a way to make their stamp on society. This Twelfth Night-inspired jukebox musical will have audience members swiveling their hips and kicking up their blue suede shoes to well-known Elvis classics; “Hound Dog”, “Jailhouse Rock”, ” Love Me Tender”, and more!
