Meet the Cast of There Goes the Bride by Ray Cooney and John Chapman

We’re thrilled to introduce the incredible ensemble bringing hilarity and heart to life in this madcap comedy of wedding-day mayhem.

Valerie Chinn (Polly Perkins)Actor. Singer. Storyteller. Cat enthusiast. Valerie brings flair and fun to the role of Polly, with past performances ranging from Pearl in Ghost Quartet at Firehouse to Venus in Coronation of Poppea. You may also know her from the immersive worlds of Revélér or her storytelling troupe, Spooky Hollow Storytellers. She’s powered by music, mischief, and her trio of beloved cats.

Catherine Butler Cooper (Daphne Drummond)Returning to the Mill stage after nine years, Catherine is a vibrant presence with deep Richmond roots. She’s graced countless local stages from The Hallelujah Girls to Man of La Mancha, and even the outdoor epic Tecumseh. Daphne’s got her hands full with this wedding, and we’re thrilled Catherine is in the role. Big hugs to her family, Travis and Nina, for their continued support.

Matt Hackman (Bill Shorter)A familiar face at the Mill, Matt’s range shines in roles like The Woman in Black and Almost, Maine. Whether navigating Shakespeare’s tangled tales or diving into indie dramas, his versatility and heart are unmatched. We’re excited to welcome him back to the stage.

John Hagadorn (Gerald Drummond)A Swift Creek Mill legend, John has delighted audiences for decades. From ballplayers to grandpas, he’s done it all—and even shared the screen with Pierce Brosnan. When not on stage, John serves as a docent at the Virginia Holocaust Museum and gives his heart to his beloved cats. He dedicates this performance to them with gratitude for their companionship through the years.

Maggie Jordan (Judy Westerby)Making her professional debut on our stage, Maggie brings youthful energy and humor to the bride-to-be. A Williamsburg native and recent Richmond transplant, she’s dazzled in everything from Bright Star to Crimes of the Heart. We’re thrilled to welcome her to the Mill family.

Emma Mason (Ursula Westerby)She’s back! A Swift Creek Mill favorite, Emma lights up every stage she steps on, whether in Almost, Maine or Sabrina Fair. With comedic timing and heartfelt delivery, her portrayal of Ursula is sure to charm.

Joy Williams (Mrs. Babcock)A cornerstone of the Mill, Joy brings laughs and love to every role, from snowmen to sassy southerners. As a director, performer, and all-around powerhouse, Joy’s presence enriches every production. We’re so happy to have her in this one.

Robbie Winston (Timothy Westerby)With credits spanning Richmond to Off-Broadway to the West Coast, Robbie’s comedic chops and dramatic depth make him the perfect fit for Timothy, the father of the bride caught in a wedding whirlwind. A seasoned actor with a strong stage and screen presence, he thanks his family for always cheering him on.
