AUDITION INFORMATION

Auditions will take place on Saturday, June 22 from 11am – 1pm at Richmond Triangle Players (1300 Altamont Avenue, Richmond, VA 23230).

Auditionees are asked to prepare a 1 to 2 minute comedic monologue.

Audition appointments are required; please sign up for an audition appointment at the link below. Additional appointments will be added, once the current signup is filled.

If you are unable to attend auditions, please submit your monologue via self-tape, along with your resume and headshot to auditionsatrtp@gmail.com no later than 5pm on Thursday, June 20th.

Callbacks will be held Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at 7pm at Richmond Triangle Players (1300 Altamont Avenue, Richmond, VA 23230). Auditionees will be notified on Sunday, June 23, about attending callbacks. RTP is unable to offer virtual / self-tape options for callbacks.

LULIE STANWYCK | 30s – 50s | any ethnicity

President of the Susan B. Anthony Society. The very model of a perfect 1950’s woman in speech, manner, and dress. And yet she’s hiding a secret that might shatter the sisterhood.

WREN ROBIN | 30s – 50s | any ethnicity

Events Chairwoman. Excitable, eager, and maybe a little bit ditzy, but would do anything for the Society. In a secret relationship with Dale Prist.

GINNY CADBURY | mid 20s – mid 30s | any ethnicity

Secretary. Newest member of the Society. Eager to impress. English accent. Secretly infatuated with Vern Schultz.

DALE PRIST | mid 20s – mid 30s | any ethnicity

Historian. Passionate about Society history. Hiding a strange family tragedy. Youngest member of the group. In a secret relationship with Wren Robin.

VERONICA “VERN” SCHULTZ | 30s – 50s | any ethnicity

Building and Grounds Chairman. Handy, take charge, kind of butch and proud of it. Likes to openly flirt with Ginny Cadbury.

UNDERSTUDIES

Richmond Triangle Players is looking to employ three understudies to support those cast in the above roles.

ABOUT THE SHOW

It’s 1956 and The Susan B. Anthony Society for the Sisters of Gertrude Stein are having their annual quiche breakfast. As the assembled “widows” await the announcement of the society’s prize-winning quiche, the atomic bomb sirens sound! Has the Communist threat come to pass? How will the “widows” respond as their idyllic town and lifestyle faces attacks?

CONTENT DISCLOSURE

All roles require closed mouth lip to lip contact, and highly physical comedy. Some roles require physical touch. The play discusses / portrays the following topics: sexuality, both lesbian and heterosexual. Consent and boundary practices will be in place, and an Intimacy Director has been hired for this production.
