This summer, join us for our exciting, IN-PERSON camps!

Kids are ready for some social interactions, let’s do this together.
Last summer our Zoom camps were very popular, and loads of fun,  but because of the extreme safety measures we have in place, no matter the circumstances we find ourselves in by this summer, we have everything covered.  We have successfully and safely been in-person at our theatre since Sept. 2020 for all our youth and adult classes. We are confident once you check out the link to our Covid-Safety page and see what has been engineered at our theatre (unlike anything anyone else has done), you will be as excited as we are for the summer camps to begin! Take a look at our schedule. We believe there is something for all to enjoy, depending on your child’s personal interests. Spaces Limited!

THEME PARK EXTRAVAGANZA!   June 28 – July 1all ages 8 and up: Most everyone loves going to a theme park; the exciting rides, the food, and the fun shows. And who doesn’t love those classic stories and movies, or even the newer ones that are also a part of the magic. From The Little MermaidThe Lion King, and Star Wars, to Shrek, Spiderman, Harry Potter’s World of Wizardry (and lotsmore!) we will have a fun time exploring the characters you choose and the stories you like from the most recognized and well loved theme park attractions (Disney & Universal).  Then we will put together our own short plays using characters and places within the parks.  Ariel and Elsa fighting a battle with Spiderman and The Hulk? Woody from Toy Story lost in the Haunted Mansion? Harry Potter meeting up with Darth Vader at Space Mountain? Why not! The sky (like Tower of Terror) is the limit.

CAMP BROADWAY!   July 12-15,   ages 9 & up
Back by popular demand and always a huge hit!  New York City comes to RVA! With scripts and music from some of  Broadway’s most popular shows, (musicals and plays).  Whether you like Dear Evan Hansen, Hamilton, Footloose, Frozen, Aladdin, WickedPhantom of the OperaThe Little Mermaid, Mary PoppinsAnnie, Hairspray, Newsies, Beauty & The Beast, The Lion King, Grease, The MusicMan, Cats, Les Miserable, Cinderella, Pippin, Mean Girls, or Legally Blonde, just to name a few, we have scenes and music from ALL of them and more! During this week we will put together a Broadway style revue (based on YOUR choices) complete with scripts, songs, choreography  and costuming and then be ready to perform the last day “On Broadway!” For those who like to sing and for those who don’t, We have something for everyone.  Every summer is different!!  This is one of our most sought after and popular workshops.

VOICE ACTING (cartoons, video games, commercials, animated movies & more!)July 26-29,  ages 9 and up: Do you enjoy playing with your voice? Making funny sounds? Ever wondered what it would be like to be the voice of a character in a commercial or movie? Want to be the voice for a video game character (Mario!),  on the radio, or have your own podcast? From the classic Looney Tunes to the Minions,  and the animated feature films Soul, Bolt, Frozen, Toy Story and the Lego movies (just to name a very few!),  all feature actors using their voices to help create the characters.  During this week we will play with character voices, learn to use a mic, use real scripts from cartoons, commercials, video games and movies to learn how to create fun and exciting characters with just our voices, and add in special effect sounds.  At the end, each person will put together a demo performance, in true voice over style,  complete with music underscoring.

IT’S ALL A MYSTERY August 2-5,  ages 9 and up
Murder! Intrigue! Surprise Endings! Mysteries come in all forms. There are historical mysteries (Was there really a city under water called Atlantis?, What really happened to that plane that disappeared out of thin air?),  and we have folklore (Big Foot?, The Loch Ness Monster?), and then there is the classic fun, Who dun it, (whether a Murder Mystery or who stole Aunt Lucy’s prized necklace). During the week we will explore mysteries of all kinds and choose elements to re-enact, re-create, or use as a springboard to make up               an exciting  mystery play of our own.
