About the Program:
This is part of our Summer Musical Theatre Intensive, designed for passionate and talented young performers (typically ages 10–18), run by DMR Adventures. It’s a fast-paced, high-energy environment focused on education, collaboration, and creativity. Students rehearse full days and perform a junior-length musical at the end of the two-week rehearsal period. Students are at varying levels, but an audition is required for this program. This will culminate in Beetlejuice JR
Music Director Responsibilities:
We’re looking for a Music Director who will:
- Teach all music to the cast
- Accompany and lead vocal rehearsals as needed
- Collaborate closely with the director and choreographer
- Provide casting feedback based on callback videos, prior to camp
- Be present through final rehearsal and the first performance on June 27
The MD will not need to stay for the remaining weekend performances unless desired.
Schedule:
- Week 1: June 16–18, 20 (No camp on June 19) | 9:00 AM–4:00 PM (may not be called all hours)
- Week 2: June 23–26 | 9:00 AM–4:00 PM (may not be called all hours)
- Friday, June 27: 9:00 AM–7:30 PM (includes final rehearsal and opening performance)
- (There are performances on Saturday and Sunday as well, but you aren’t required to attend those).
Compensation:
This is dependent upon your experience. We can work on an hourly or stipend basis, and we can also provide housing Charlottesville if needed. If someone who is right for this position needs transportation to Charlottesville and back home at the end we can also consider that!
