Have you ever thought about incorporating Shakespeare into your Homeschool curriculum? Students naturally gravitate towards Shakespeare in his original format—as play. Richmond Shakespeare has created a 10-week course in which students meet once per week to dig into learning and producing an abbreviated version of a Shakespeare play, as well as studying the man and his times. Besides learning about Elizabethan life, students will engage in writing, public speaking and artwork. They will also be intimately involved in all production elements of the play—movement, costuming, music, set creation, playbills, etc. And finally, beyond academic study, participation in a play can help foster the social skills that adolescents are in the midst of acquiring.
