Cadence group in partnership with Barksdale

One of Richmond’s youngest theater companies has a new home. Cadence Theatre Company, which opened in late 2009 and had its debut performance in January 2010, is moving into the Empire Theatre as part of a partnership with Barksdale Theatre’s Theatre Gym program. A black box-style theater within the Empire Theatre that had been damaged by a hurricane several years ago had been repaired, but was being used as rehearsal space by Barksdale, said Barksdale Theatre artistic director Bruce Miller. The time had come to bring it back as a performance venue, he said, and it suited Cadence’s needs.
