I Tried to Say, “I Love You” But I Had a Cigarette in My Mouth is a new play written by Eva Linder, Directed by Candace Hudert, and Produced by Claire Bronchick.

Synopsis: Upon moving to NYC in 2011, Lottie throws herself into the Brooklyn lesbian scene, naive of its tumultuous nature. She battles between following her head – her promising career opportunities – and following her heart – a magnetic stranger named Violet. Their story examines the line between love and control, and asks if cigarettes are the only thing they’re addicted to.
