AUDITION NOTICE:

The St. John’s Church Foundation (https://www.historicstjohnschurch.org/home) seeks actors for the ongoing production of the Second Virginia Convention of March 1775, featuring Patrick Henry’s “give me liberty or give me death” speech. Each show features nine actors portraying the roles of Patrick Henry, Edmund Pendleton, Peyton Randolph, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Robert Carter Nicholas, Thomas Nelson, Richard Henry Lee, and Benjamin Harrison.

Shows occur throughout the year at varying days and times for private performances for school and adult groups, in addition to every Sunday afternoon for the public in the summer. We perform approximately 90 shows a year. Performances last approximately 45 minutes.

All actors are paid per performance, with rate depending on role, ranging from $55 to $85. Off site shows offer the opportunity for more pay depending on location and time.

Prior acting experience and/or training is preferred.

Actors are required to be clean-shaven when performing in the reenactment.

Some weekday availability is strongly preferred.

Costumes are provided by the Foundation.

The Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization not affiliated with the religious activities of St. John’s Church.

Please send a resume and headshot and/or any questions to Dean Knight at dean@historicstjohnschurch.org.

Resumes will be collected through 9AM Wednesday, March 4, 2026. Those selected for an audition/interview will be contacted by email no later than 7PM Friday, March 6, 2026.
