| Octavia (played by Journey Entzminger), June (Sydnee S. Graves), and Imani (Zakiyyah Jackson) are young, queer, Black, and doing their best to find love, purpose, pleasure, and a little peace in a city that never slows down. The production marks the RTP directing debut of Nora Ogunleye, who has been seen onstage in RTP productions as varied as Scrooge in Rouge and Immediate Family. She is joined by scenic designer Dasia Gregg (most recently, RTP’s Immediate Family), costume hair and make-up designer Eli, sound designer Grace Brown Labelle (A Strange Loop), lighting designer TJ Washington, and longtime props designer Tim Moehring. | BLKS opens Friday September 18, 2026, at 8 pm, following low-priced previews on Wednesday and Thursday, September 16 & 17 at 8 pm. Performances run Thursday through Saturday evenings at 8 pm through October 10, with Sunday matinees at 4 pm, and a Pay What You Will performance on Wednesday October 7, at 8 pm. RTP’s famous Bar None will be open before the show and at intermission featuring special Virginia Spirits cocktails as well as its acclaimed wine menu, curated by sommelier Jessee Bowers. Tickets are $50, with $25 for the previews. Student tickets are $15 always. Discounts are available for groups of 10 or more. |
