AUDITIONS: “Over the River and Through the Woods” – Swift Creek Mill Theatre

By | April 19, 2026

Director Tom Width is seeking four actors to complete his cast for Joe DiPietro’s comedy Over the River and Through the Woods, playing 24 performances between June 4 and July 18 at Swift Creek Mill Theatre. The two “grandpas” (Frank Gianelli and Nunzio Cristano) have been cast.

The open roles are:
Nick Cristano – in his early 30’s.
Aida Gianelli – Nick’s maternal grandmother, in her 70’s
Emma Cristano – Nick’s paternal grandmother, in her 70’s
Caitlin O’Hare – Attractive and charming, in her late 20’s

This sweet and funny story is told from Nick’s perspective: he has dinner at his grandparents’ home every Sunday and now must tell them that he’ll be moving across the country and won’t be seeing them very often. The four grandparents do all that they can to convince him to stay with them in Hoboken, New Jersey!

The open call will be on Sunday, April 26, at 6 P.M. by appointment. Prepare, if you wish, a short comic monologue; or you can just read from the sides that will be provided. Email Tom Width at Twidth@aol.com to schedule your audition.

Callbacks will be on Monday, April 27, at 7 P.M. by invitation only. If you have worked with Tom before, feel free to express your interest to him and come only to the callback. Twidth@aol.com

Rehearsals will begin on Sunday, May 3.
