Goochland Community Theatre is thrilled to present Romeo & Juliet, written by William Shakespeare and directed by Sydney Usova, to continue our 2025-2026 season. (March 20-22, 2026)
Director Sydney Usova is seeking a group of creative, collaborative actors as we craft our take on Shakespeare’s classic story. Strong physical acting abilities are preferred. We are looking for a cast of 11 over the age of 18.
Actors auditioning in person are asked to prepare One 1-and-a-half minute long Shakespearean monologue. Sides will be provided at the audition as well.
About the Show: The famous tale of two teenagers who fall in love at first sight but are kept apart by their families’ long-held feud and various other circumstances. These young lovers are driven to extreme lengths to remain loyal to each other, while the world around them remains oblivious. How does one continue to see the love and beauty in such tragedy?

Auditions will take place on Thursday, November 20th and Friday, November 21st at 6:30 at Central High Cultural and Educational Center – 2748 Dogtown Rd, Goochland, VA 23063. You are only required to come to one day of auditions.
Invited callbacks will be held on Saturday, November 22nd at 12:30 at Central High Cultural and Educational Center. Actors who are called back will be notified via email.
Actors who are unable to attend in person can submit a video audition to the director via the email address listed above. Video auditions must be submitted by November 19th at 11:59pm. Actors auditioning virtually should record one 1-and-a-half minute long Shakespearean Monologue of their choosing. You will receive an email confirmation for your submission along with your audition form within 24 hours. If you do not get a confirmation please reach out.
