AUDITIONS: “That Funny Feeling” – Yours Truly Theater Company/ Richmond Fringe Festival

By | February 15, 2026

Hello! My name is Ebony Hicks and I will be making my playwright/artistic debut at Richmond Fringe Festival this year (yay!) and I am in need of 8-11 actors of all backgrounds, genders, sexualities, experience levels, ages 18+ for a reading of my play “That Funny Feeling”. The play follows a young person named Joy who has a multitude of adult problems that just don’t seem to solve themselves and go away (I’m sure we can all relate) and when they’ve manifested themselves into actual people that only Joy can see and hear, Joy must make the active decision whether or not to face their problems head on. This play discusses about topics such as community, food insecurity, and grief (TW). Again, this is just a play reading so I am not looking for Tony award-winning experience levels (but you will not be turned away if you do have a Tony) but a willingness to explore the text and have fun trying different things. No memorization of the play is required, however, putting in an effort to act is. Please see a list of important details below and feel free to reach out with any questions! hicksebony01@gmail.com
