By | February 22, 2026

WOLF PLAY AUDITION NOTICE! 5th Wall Theatre is seeking non-union actors for Wolf Play by Hansol Jung, directed by Youri Kim.

Ready to join the pack?

ABOUT THE PLAY:

Somewhere between a boxing gym and a living room, a wolf is looking for a pack. When a young boy is rehomed through an online message board, a queer couple takes him in, unaware that he sees himself not as a boy, but as something wilder. As tensions rise and identities clash, instinct begins to surface.

SEEKING:

Non-union actors for the following roles. All Positions are paid.

WOLF

Performer should be of East Asian descent.

A child, “Jeenu,” who has been re-homed and narrates their story through the lens of a wolf.

This role will be cast with an adult performer who operates the boy. Puppeteer experience welcomed but not required.

ASH

Any ethnicity. AFAB non-binary, late twenties.

A southpaw boxer on the cusp of their professional debut. Guarded, fierce, and deeply ambivalent about the arrival of a child they never agreed to. Physical role. Movement experience is a plus.

ROBIN

Any ethnicity. Female, thirties.

Ash’s wife. Warm, stubborn, and propelled by a ferocious love for her spouse and for a child she decided was hers before she ever met him.

RYAN

Any ethnicity. Male, early to mid-thirties.

Robin’s brother. Runs a boxing gym and serves as Ash’s trainer. Loud, funny, and well-meaning in ways that frequently miss the mark.

PETER

Any ethnicity. Male, late thirties.

A father who re-homed his adopted son through an informal online arrangement and cannot quite bring himself to let go.

NOTE:

Open to all performers regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, or ability.

Per the playwright: the cast should be racially diverse. Wolf should be of East Asian descent.

CONTENT WARNING:

Wolf Play contains strong language and explores themes of child re-homing, family instability, identity, and emotional volatility.
