AUDITIONS: “Pride and Prejudice” – River City Community Players

River City Community Players is pleased to announce auditions for our Fall production of Pride and Prejudice by Kate Hamill.

Auditions are scheduled for May 17-18 from 7-9pm. Those wishing to audition are encouraged to sign up though walk-ins are also welcome.

Callbacks will be held, if needed, on Tuesday, May 19 at 7pm.

Auditions will consist of readings from the script in various groups. Sides will be provided.

Auditions are at Gayton Kirk Presbyterian Church, 11421 Gayton Road, Henrico, Virginia, 23238. Please either send your headshot (or recent selfie) and resume to brandystevens434@gmail.com or bring a printed copy of each to the audition. If sending your headshot and resume digitally, please send each as separate files attached to the email. Make sure to include your full name.

There will be one readthrough on May 26th at 7pm.

Rehearsals will begin in July, 2026.

There will be 6 total performances between September 11 and September 20.

No performers are paid.

Director Candace Hudert seeks a strong ensemble to portray all of the characters in Pride and Prejudice. The below character breakdown is suggested, but subject to change:

Actor 1: Jane Bennet and Miss de Bourgh, late 20s-mid 30s, mild movement, F

Actor 2: Lizzy Bennet, late 20s-mid 30s, medium movement, F

Actor 3: Lydia Bennet and Lady Catherine, teenager, medium movement, F

Actor 4: Mister Darcy, 30s – early 40s, medium to mild movement, M

Actor 5: Mr. Collins, Wickham, and Miss Bingley, 30s, high movement, F&M

Actor 6: Mr. Bingley and Mary Bennet, Mid 30s-early 40s, high movement, F&M

Actor 7: Charlotte Lucas and Mr. Bennet, 40s-early 50s, medium movement, F&M

Actor 8: Mrs. Bennet and Servants, Late 40s-50s+, high movement, F&M
